Delingha in Paradise
Lyrics by Hua Chaofeng,
Music by Liu Hongyun
The Gobi wind sweeps across Delingha,
This lonely city, a painting in the aura.
Haizi’s verses float within the night sky,
Sister’s figure haunts my dreams, passing by.
The barren road stretches to the edge of the world,
A lonely heart wanders, nowhere to be curled.
That old ballad echoes, rough and low in my ear,
Tears of longing stream down, falling like a tear.
Is there a Delingha up in Paradise?
Did the Gobi Sister turn into a star, shining bright?
The Milky Way is a bridge, linking two worlds so vast,
We’ll meet again there, leaving behind the past.
Moonlight spills down on the old wooden fence,
Memories like sand, melting away the tense.
That starry sky hides so many words of love,
The river of time flows quietly from above.
Distant clouds carry dreams on their flight,
The fire in my heart is still burning bright.
That oasis is a fairy tale deep in my soul,
The light of hope makes the fleeting years whole.
Is there a Delingha up in Paradise?
Did the Gobi Sister turn into a star, shining bright?
The Milky Way is a bridge, linking two worlds so vast,
We’ll meet again there, leaving behind the past.
Time rushes on, taking the glory away,
But that poem remains, here forever to stay.
In that distant, faraway place so profound,
Lies our innocence, where true love is found.
Delingha in Paradise, the eternal home,
The Gobi’s story, a truth we have known.
Along the Milky Way, we set out once more,
To bloom with the spark of love, on that distant shore.
