1. 缘起：1984年非洲爆发严重饥荒，英国音乐人发起公益歌曲《Do They Know It's Christmas?》，美国歌手哈利·贝拉方特受启发，号召美国乐坛效仿，为非洲灾民筹款。

2. 创作与录制：迈克尔·杰克逊与莱昂纳尔·里奇连夜完成词曲；制作人昆西·琼斯借1985年1月28日全美音乐奖契机，召集45位顶级歌手在洛杉矶录音室通宵录制，组合定名USA for Africa。

3. 发行与影响：1985-03-07发行，全球超8000家电台同步首播；累计筹款超6000万美元，用于非洲饥荒救援；斩获1986年格莱美年度制作、年度歌曲、最佳流行合唱三项大奖，成为公益音乐里程碑。
