朋友在网上给我发了一首英文歌，说是很好听，打开欣赏，是一首很老的英文歌，由于自己的英文水平很差，只能欣赏那委婉的，带有一种凄美的旋律。闭上眼睛，静静的听，里面有大海，有草原，有森林，喧闹的集市，潺潺流动的河流边的人群，也有哀怨，有爱情，有思念。音乐就有如此大的魅力，可以表现的东西是如此之多！
为了究其原委，上网查了一下资料，才知道，原来这是一首已在欧洲流行几百年的古老的英国民歌，经过漫长的时间长河洗刷，旋律也有所变化，只是越来越适合现代人怀古的口味，歌词的意思已经发生了很大的变化，歌词经翻译有普通的直译，叫人叫绝的是一位美籍华人的才女用古老的诗经格式，意译一篇，实在是难得。只是目前还没有人用其演唱而已。
