紫竹林中，素日清闲。黑熊精天天就着马蓝头醋拌笋尖，喝些自酿的竹叶酒，日子快淡出鸟来了。
这日，龙女携善财突然造访，慌得他急忙收拾碗盏，遮遮掩掩。
龙女将眼一翻，问道：“前几日菩萨与你说的差事，你可想好了？”
黑熊精不答，只从箱内找出个匣子，递到龙女跟前。善财抢过来，揭开一看，是座蜜煎糖浇，晶莹剔透的狮仙糖。
“昨日有场法事，斋宴顶上，有座最洁净最显眼的糖点，我特意留着，孝敬你的。” “你知我吃不吃糖？就这东西，还是留给小孩子家罢。”
善财一听，没了兴致，立时将匣子捽回黑熊精怀内，龙女这才轻侮地一笑。
知道自己闹了个无趣，黑熊精磨磨蹭蹭道：“我有心效力，但手段平平。此等大事，只怕办不好……”
龙女答道：“我们岂能不知？放心，自有比你凶，比你狠的冲在前头。” “无功不受禄，若是烫手的山芋，不好下口哩。” “自有菩萨打点，哪有什么烫手之说。”
“你莫诳我，菩萨叫我在此静修，怎会又替我打点。”
龙女悾着脸，道：“你怎这般没胆识，此番可是个大机缘，抢着去的人排都排不过来。只因菩萨要点个亲信些的，这才选了你，你竟悟不出来？”
黑熊精半晌无话，龙女被磨尽了耐性：“这点胸怀也无。罢！罢！罢！我替你回了菩萨去。” “姐姐，姐姐，我不是那个意思。我去，我去！”
只待瞧见了黑熊精满眼热盼，龙女这才将眼又一翻，撇下善财，飘摇而去。
见她走远，善财急急追问：“到底是何差事？我想走，你不若禀告菩萨，把我也带上罢。”
“是有些要紧差事，可你刚听了，菩萨不让你去。你休再缠我，别连带我也失了机缘。”
数日后。
黑熊精收拾停当，绰着一杆黑缨枪正要远行。善财在竹林外守候多日，赶紧跟上他，又闹着要与他同行。 黑熊精一反常态，劝道：“善财，菩萨嘱咐了，让你老实呆着。此次你父亲也被强征出战，可见凶险，不是胡闹的。”他摸了摸额上的禁箍，叹道：“为了去个箍儿，丢了性命，便是不值了。”
话毕，他将身一摇，化作一道黑风，不顾善财的呼喊，迅速遁去了。 其后，善财在紫竹林外等了他很久，再也未见他回来。事后回想，那原是他在南海，最后一次见到黑熊精。
